I know this probably seems random and strange, but just keep reading...
For many years I have been struggling with eczema on the inside of my elbows, my shoulders, my neck, chest, and lately it's been spreading to my legs, up and down my arms, and I have a patch on the side of my face. It's a horrible thing to go through. On top of the skin disease itself, I have lost all of the pigment in those patches because of Cortisone. The dermatologist prescribed a steroid cream called Hydro-Cortisone when I was in 6th grade. It destroyed all of the pigment in my skin. Since the pigment is gone, the patches are very obvious. Especially during summer, since they don't tan.
Last summer, a friend of ours gave us this cream from Lebanon. It smells like candle wax. It is legit gross!! Anyways, I was told that it draws all of the toxins out of the skin you put it on. We had no idea what was in it, so I stopped using it.
The chlorine in swimming pools has always bothered me. But it got really bad when I went swimming in school right before Christmas break. To the point where I wanted to itch it, but if I did, I would bleed. It was really bad. I was miserable the rest of the school day. You know it's bad when I ask my mom to write me a note to get out of swimming so that I won't be miserable over Christmas.
My mom found this doctor who sold a herbal supplement that was supposed to help get rid of eczema. It made my joints hurt pretty bad, so we stopped that pretty quick!!
My mom and I decided to do a Daniel Fast over the weekend. This specific fast means that you can't eat meat, carbohydrates (the ones in white bread and white flour), or sweets. We modified it a little. We added in no dairy because we read that dairy is a major trigger for eczema. Last night we had this really yummy homemade tomato soup with wheat crutons. I had two bowls and a salad with tomatoes on it. Within 2 minutes of finishing washing the dishes, I was sprinting to the bathroom squealing and sobbing in pain. I had an allergic reaction to something that made me itch. I was itching so hard that you could see the claw marks on my arms. We thought that it might be from tomatoes.
So today, my mom made spaghetti and had me eat some of the leftover soup. NOTHING HAPPENED!! It was a bittersweet moment when the hour mark went by. I really like tomatoes, so I was thankful that it wasn't the trigger. But I was also frustrated. It's really aggravating when you know something's wrong, but nobody can tell you what's happening.
So this post is to ask you for prayer. I need every bit of it that I can get. Also, if you know of anything that would maybe cause it or any solutions, I would love to know. I have gotten to the point that I will try anything. I did not write this to complain, I just wanted to ask for prayer. Thank you so much!!
Much Love ♥
